2020 history
While not a lot happened for the Young Women of Draper 17th in 2020, we did have a our first ever “YW Ice Cream Truck!” The Young Women’s Presidency (minus a sick Young Women’s President) drove around the neighborhood with ice cream and popsicles on the Davies family golf cart and visited with almost all of the young women from a social distance. It was fun to see the girls that we hadn’t had the chance to see in months. Another great experience in 2020 was when we fasted together for Kameron Miller who was getting back surgery. Each young women’s class wrote her cards and wished her well and brought treats. In addition to this fun connection, all of the youth had a chance to deliver gift baskets to different families in the neighborhood while caroling. It was meaningful at one home in particular. One of the families we took a gift basket to had recently felt targeted and harassed by some of the kids in the neighborhood. This helped mend some of those feelings!
